People talk about the difficult of having quality discussion on Twitter, Tumblr, leftbook, academic articles, youtube comments. But at least these things are, generally, dynamic. So they fulfill the basic minimum standard of being discussion at all, or at the least, not pretending to try.

As such, the lowest discourse there is is professor-required discussion boards for online classes.
